"The Aesthetic Age" Seminar
Menahem Goldenberg – annual | 2 hours (1.5 credits)
Required course for 3rd year students
The seminar, "The Aesthetic Age," wishes to delineate a period in history and look at the philosophical thought that characterizes it. The seminar will serve as an “introduction to contemporary thought” of sorts, with an emphasis on critical thought that arises from a sense of crisis and whose purpose is to allow once again the act of thinking.
The course will address central philosophers such as: Immanuel Kant, Friedrich Schelling, Friedrich Nietzsche, Martin Heidegger, Walter Benjamin, Jean Paul Sartre, Jean Baudrillard.
