An introductory course that defines the operational basics , the thought and the directing efforts of staging puppet theater . The course will examine operating characteristics and forms of expression that stem from varying techniques and will focus on defining the basic tools for working. We will develop our level of attention, concentration awareness of the initial transition between the puppeteer and the puppet through breathing and touch. As the course proceeds we will experiment with directing assignments through which we will analyze the medium, the situations that arise from the meetings of various mediums in puppetry, and refine our ability to discuss and analyze as a group.
